Purpose

The purpose of the International Dyslexia Association is to pursue and provide the most comprehensive range of information and services that address the full scope of dyslexia and related difficulties in learning to read and write in a way that creates hope, possibility, and partnership so that every individual has the opportunity to lead a productive and fulfilling life, and society benefits from the resource that is liberated.

The New Hampshire Branch of The International Dyslexia Association (NH/IDA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, scientific and educational organization dedicated to the study and treatment of the learning disability, dyslexia. The New Hampshire Branch was formed in 2002 to increase public awareness of dyslexia. The New Hampshire Branch serves New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

Tutoring, testing, and other referral information can be obtained by calling our Branch or by visiting the Service Provider page of our website. We do not maintain an office, so when you call, you may be asked to leave a message. One of our Branch members will respond to your call within a reasonable time. You may also e-mail us at .

Many of our members are actively involved in the diagnosis and remediation of dyslexia. Our members are educators, psychologists, physicians, individuals with dyslexia, and parents. We are part of a network of local school officials, parents, attorneys, and other professionals who are accustomed to helping parents navigate the channels of the system.

One of our most important objectives is to raise awareness of dyslexia in order to increase early intervention. We also encourage teachers to pursue training in multisensory language instruction.

Program & Services

Our Branch sponsors an annual conference, and more extensive teacher training workshops. Our conference and workshops attract teachers, administrators, parents, counselors, therapists, and psychologists.

We publish a newsletter twice a year to keep our members informed of our calendar of events, offer tips for parents and teachers, and provide current information on educational opportunities, research, and legislation.
